EDUCATION FOR
    MIND, BODY & SPIRIT

The Mission of Trinity is to empower our children to achieve their greatest potential both as students and as members of their communities.

    Welcome to Trinity Academy

We are an academically inclusive school where mainstream, special needs and gifted students learn side by side.

We value the fact that our students differ both in abilities and interests. As such, we employ a competency based modular curriculum which is aimed at one thing - allowing each student to work at his or her own pace.

We believe that quality instruction requires careful student-centered planning as well as society-based execution. We therefore pride ourselves in the development and use of methodologies that not only encourage learning but also prepare students to thrive after they leave our school.

At the Trinity Academy, we are commited to helping all of our students actualize their dreams.

"The New Path To Academic Success"

    Why Trinity Academy Works

The Trinity Academy uses a modular, competency-based approach to curriculum. Competency-based means that each student is assigned to courses based on his or her abilities. We believe that students should have the opportunity to prepare and sit subjects for which they show a high level of proficiency at the earliest possible time. By the same token, they should be given as man opportunities as possible to achieve an acceptable level of proficiency in subject disciplines that they find more challenging.

Modular means that each subject is viewed as a unit that can be completed independent of other courses. This allows us to prepare our students for multiple sittings of the CSEC examination. Consequently, students do not usually take all of their subjects in one sitting in their final year (Form 5). Instead, students are encouraged and prepared to start writing their CSEC subjects in Form 3. This approach provides several benefits to students.

    1

Students are able to accumulate subjects over a period of up to three years instead of taking them all in one sitting. This mitigates over any advance situation that may occur in Form 5 that could negatively affects a student's CSES results.

    2

Students can prepare subjects under less stress as only a few subjects are taken in any given sitting.

    3

Students are able to complete subjects that they find less challenging first, allowing time to dedicate to subjects that are more challenging.

    Competency-Based Curriculum

This learning style leads to better student outcomes because the pace of learning is customized to each student. By enabling students to master skills at their own pace, competency-based learning systems help to save both time and money.

    Community Service Initiatives

Volunteering can help you to find friends, connect with the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career. Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. It can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.

    Blended Instruction

This provides the opportunity to make a clear path for students, such as what is expected of each student and requirements to reach the final goal are. With blended learning, teachers can visualize and track each student's progress.
